Hand Made Heavy Duty Utility Knife in CPM Magnacut.
This knife means a lot to me. It is more than just a simple knife. I designed this knife to fit all of my personal needs around the shop. This is a hybrid utility/defensive knife. Strange combination? Maybe, but what more can one ask for than a knife that’s made to handle all of your shop tasks and simultaneously has your back in a time of need.
The fine flat grinds allow for absolutely awesome performance in cutting tasks such as cardboard. The design of the spine also allows for you to support the blade tip with your thumb for extra support and significantly less wrist strain. The ergonomics of this tool are truly a beautiful thing!
The Wharncliffe style of blade is my absolute favorite style. In cuts like no other. Ever wonder why a utility knife uses this blade style? This style of blade is also extremely simple to hone! Being a straight edge, it requires no manipulation of the blade to follow curves and is simple for the beginner to learn to hone. It also excels in defensive situations if that unfortunate need were to arise.
This knife also has a finger hole, as it is a feature I very much appreciate on a defensive, fixed blade knife. Plus, it allows for easy hanging to display on your tool board since it’s also a shop tool!
The knife allows for you to easily make and install your own favorite custom handle scales! It is already drilled and tapped to receive 6-32 screws, which are easily available from any well stocked hardware store. I will even post a YouTube video about making the scales in the coming days! It’s actually quite simple and a lot of fun!
